I recently had the opportunity to do CBS2 meteorologist Jackie Johnson’s makeup for an event in which she received an award from the LAPD. The event took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. Jackie, who is a wonderful person, received this award as a result of her being a model citizen and an aspiring young woman in the sciences. It is no surprise to me that she receives this award, as she is not only talented, but an amazing person as well. I’m proud to call her my friend. Some of the attendees at the event include Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda and various members of the LAPD. You can view the video of her receiving the award below.
As you can see from the video, Jackie looked beautiful (per usual). I’ve had the privilege to work with Jackie quite a bit now, whether it be makeup for events or for her photoshoots, and I always look forward to our meetings. I love doing hair and makeup for red carpet events, as there is something really special about them- even from a makeup artists perspective. Whether it be a red carpet event, a special occasion, an award ceremony or even a birthday party, I love helping make people feel beautiful for the special moment’s in people’s lives. Everyone feels more confident when they are done up, and I love inspiring this feeling. It truly is my passion and is the reason why I love being a professional makeup artist.
