Today I am sharing with you photos from a wedding I was the bridal make up artist for in Lake Sherwood, CA. The wedding was between Caitlin and Ryan, a beautiful couple.
I had the pleasure of meeting Caitlin through her mom about about 8 months before Caitlin’s wedding day. Her mom, a wonderful person, contacted me to do hair and makeup for a few people for their family pictures. We got along famously and during the appointment she told me that her daughter was going to be getting married in November and she loved my bridal work and was going to talk to Caitlin about having me do her hair and makeup for her wedding.
A couple of months later I had the great pleasure of meeting Caitlin for a hair and makeup trial at my beauty studio and she was just a big sweetheart, just like her mom! When we met it was really funny because her words were, “I never wear makeup and like to just brush my hair and go.” I said PERFECT! I love when this happens- it is my favorite. I love when my brides tell me that they don’t wear much makeup but allow me to enhance their already natural beauty and bump it up a bit. They are always wonderfully surprised out the outcome- I just love seeing their faces after the transformation.
For Caitlin’s wedding we went with a classic beautiful full bun for her hair, and for her makeup I used golds, browns with a tiny pop of purple to really accentuate her blue eyes. We wanted to really contour her cheeks- to do this we used my favorite Bobbi Brown Bronzer, Golden Light and we popped some Pale Pink Blush over top.
I loved the way Caitlin’s look came together- it worked so perfectly with her gorgeous wedding dress and Veil. We also had the opportunity do do hair and makeup for all 11 bridesmaids as well as the mother of the bride. They were an absolute gem to work with.
I want to thank Caitlin and her mom Mary for being such sweethearts. I also want to thank my amazing team of artists- I couldn’t have done it without them.
