Hey Everyone–
At this point in my career I have been the makeup artist for hundreds if not thousands of weddings. I have worked on major fashion shoots, with major consumer brands and with celebrities- but nothing compares to the experience I recently had doing hair and makeup for my Dad’s wedding. As I mention quite often on this blog, there is something extra special about being a part of weddings for close friends and family. Out of all of the weddings I have been the makeup artist for this one takes the cake!
The wedding took place in Denver, Colorado at my Dad’s beautiful home and was filled with friends and family. My Dad’s wife Sue (who is a wonderful lady) looked beautiful. Sue doesn’t normally wear a lot of makeup and do a lot with her hair so what I did for her (even though I didn’t do that much!) certainly deviated from her normal amount of makeup wear. You can see a before and after photo on our hair and makeup transformation gallery. Nevertheless, she was ecstatic about the look I gave her and so was my Dad. One of my favorite moments of the wedding as it pertains to the way she looked was while Sue was walking down the aisle my Dad literally turned to me and said, “WOW”. He later told me he had never seen her look so beautiful and dolled up which made me so happy.
It also meant a lot to me because my Dad has been incredibly supportive of my career- I can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for me. Needless to say the wedding and the party afterwards was a great time. Undoubtedly one of the best parties I have ever been to.
