Just recently I had the amazing opportunity to be the makeup artist for a Galia Lahav photo shoot. Galia Lahav makes incredible Haute Couture bridal gowns, all made in Tel Aviv. I am a huge fan of Galia’s work- as both a bride-to-be, and someone who has worked in the bridal business for a long time.
This bridal shoot took place in Los Angeles, CA, and in my opinion, was a complete success. Everyone I had the opportunity to work with on this shoot, from the models to the amazing photographer, were not only very professional and incredible at what they do, but were a lot of fun to work with. It is always great to have the opportunity to work with talented people.
The dresses portrayed in this shoot are the “Lana” and the “Joyce”, which, as you can see, are unbelievably beautiful. They are part of the Galia Lahav 2014 collection. The hair and makeup for the shoot were early 1900’s retro-glam style which from a makeup perspective, is dark smokey eyes, full thick lashes, a strong brow and heavy contour to the cheeks.
I really liked the location of the shoot and how it enhanced the final product. We essentially took a random dirt road surrounded by trees and when you add the gorgeous models and the unbelievable dresses, it all all became a whimsical dream.
As a bridal makeup artist I am thankful to have been a part of the this photo shoot and work with such wonderful people. I am very appreciative, and hope to work with this amazing crew again sometime in the near future.
