Engagement season is here! It is a wonderful time of year where love is in the air! Today I’m sharing with you some photos from an engagement shoot that I did hair and makeup for that took place here in Ventura County and at the beach in Malibu. The shoot was done to celebrate the engagement of Jamie and Mike who are a gorgeous couple.
I first got in touch with Jamie after she found me online and expressed she was looking for a makeup artist for her engagement shoot. After some discussion we decided we were going to work together and that the day she came to my studio in Calabasas would also serve as her wedding makeup trial. For those of you that are looking for a makeup artist and have not yet taken your engagement photos, this is definitely the way to go. Meeting with your makeup artist to have your hair and makeup done for your engagement shoot is the prime time to do a bridal trial. This is your opportunity to get a couple of different looks done and really see what your makeup artist is capable of.
In this post you can see some of the engagement pictures resulting from the shoot. As I mentioned earlier, Jamie and Mike are a beautiful couple and I think the photos turned out wonderfully. They look like the belong in a magazine. As you can see in the photos, Jamie wore her hair down for the engagement photos but wants an elegant updo for the day of her wedding. With that being said, we are going to do a wedding day hair trial next week so that Jamie can see what it will look like on her. This is the benefit of working with the same artist on both your engagement photos and your wedding. You have time to get all aspects of your look right and make sure you get the look of your dreams on your wedding day.
