Hey Everyone!
Some exciting news came across my desk the other day: one of the photos from a photo shoot with Melissa McCarty I did hair and makeup for is going to be the cover of her new book News Girls Don’t Cry. Even more important than this is the fact that Melissa got the publishing deal that she has been working towards- absolutely amazing news and I couldn’t be happier for her. This is a must read and I’ll release more details when I have them.
For those of you who don’t know Melissa- not only is she beautiful but she is an amazingly talented and intelligent woman. She’s worked as a newscaster for 5 years on KCAL 9 and KCBS, has appeared on T.V shows such as NBC’s Chuck, HBO’s Big Love, FOX’s Lie to me and ABC Family’s Middleman and is a very talented writer whose memoir News Girls Don’t Cry I cannot wait to read!
Not only is Melissa talented but she is a total sweetheart. I’ve worked with her a number of times now and every time we all get together not only do we produce amazing work together but we have an absolute blast- which is what it is all about. I’m so excited for Melissa and cannot wait to read the book. I know that getting this publishing deal meant a lot to her and the fact that this dream of hers came true is amazing. When it is available you’ll be able to find more information about it here. As I’m writing this blog it dawned on me- this isn’t the first book cover photo that I’ve worked on. A photo from a shoot I worked on with former Playboy model Devin DeVasquez ended up being the cover of her book “True Age, Timeless Beauty”. Such an honor on both fronts!
