Hello Beautiful People,
I am so excited to share these photos from a shoot I was the makeup artist and hairstylist for in Los Angeles. The shoot was with the beautiful model/actress Aria London who made my job as a makeup artist very easy! Not only was Aria gorgeous, but she was also incredibly sweet and fun to work with. She has a perfect face palette that any makeup artist would absolutely love to doll up, especially for beauty and fashion shots! During this shoot we did three different makeup and hair looks starting from a fairly natural look to bumping up with new colors and contouring and finishing off with a smokey eye, adding false lashes and really stepping it up. It was a blast! Aria’s mom Lindsay was on set all day with us as the stylist helping beautify her daughter. She was extremely sweet and fun. I think it is awesome that they both work together and work on shoots together- that is really great to see and they make a killer team.
As you know if you follow this blog, I always harp on the fact that it doesn’t matter how beautiful the model is and how talented the makeup artist might be if you don’t have a good photographer, the final product suffers. We didn’t have to worry about that on this shoot as we had a FANTASTIC photographer in renowned Los Angeles headshot and fashion photographer Jalisco Wayne. Jalisco and I first worked together back in March, when I did hair and makeup for the beautiful Australian Model Kelly Pantaleoni. Jalisco is incredibly talented and there is a certain pure beauty flawlessness in all of his photography. I love that his shots really captures the model’s beauty and all of their features while still keeping it classy. One of the first things I noticed as a makeup artist is that his editing does not completely change what the models look like (makeup, body, coloring). This is a huge pet peeve of mine when photographer do this. Many photographers abuse photoshop and over edit photos to the point where they look fake. Jalisco does a great job of working that balance between editing and not compromising the photo.
I want to thank everyone who was involved in this shoot. Aria, Lindsay, Jalisco, art director Stephanie Wagner and my assistant Taryn all did a fabulous job. I can’t wait to work with them all again. Below are some photos from the shoot- more to come as they become available!
